Offside is a short visual documentary in which hostage Arjan Erkel visits the Kuip, home of Feyenoord, Rotterdam and tells how patterns became rituals, giving him strenght in his fight against loneliness, insecurity and boredom.

'Too bad Feyenoord only got a draw against Ajax!'. These were the first words Arjan Erkel spoke to the press after being kept hostage for 606 days in Dagestan. These words got him nominated ambassador for Feyenoord.

Offside is part of EPTAS, an initiative by the Dutch Filmfund to make short documentaries for the cinema.
